A time to dream

We celebrated the Feast Day of our Patron Saint, John the Baptist, on 24 June this year with a Eucharist in the Sisters’ Chapel followed by the first of our long lunches. Around 25 people gathered over quiche and salad to talk and dream around the theme: “Truth lies not in one dream but in many” (Pier Paolo Pasolini) – our dreams for the Way in the spirit of John the Baptist.

Much of our dreaming actually began with memories of past experiences with the SSA, and moved into dreaming about what is still to come. Those who had attended quiet days in the past offer to lead quiet days in the future. Others who have little experience of the Sisters dream about the ways in which they can be involved in future ministries with the SSA. All of us are grateful for all that has been and are looking for ways to ensure that many other people will also be able to spend time with the SSA and be nourished and embraced by the community.
