A partnership begins

Some time in 2024, it became apparent to us that the historic Sisters Chapel, in the grounds of St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School, was going to become difficult for us to access regularly as St Margaret’s engages in a significant building program. As we began to consider our options, the parish of Hendra-Clayfield started to emerge as a possible partner with the SSA. With the assistance of the Rev’d Dr Jon Osborne, the locum parish priest of Hendra-Clayfield, we have entered into an exciting time of shared ministry with the parish at the St Colomb’s church site in Clayfield.

Our monthly Sunday Eucharists and quarterly Community Meals will now take place at St Colomb’s, and in the spirit of Partnership these services will be the Sunday service at St Colomb’s on the first Sunday of each month. In addition, the wonderful church hall provides a space for us to establish a presence every Friday morning with prayer, hospitality and, as we become more settled in our new space, the opportunity for us to offer spirituality-focused workshops, quiet mornings and other events.

We are incredibly grateful to the faithful people of St Colomb’s, and the whole parish of Hendra-Clayfield, for welcoming us so warmly, and for being willing to explore the possibilities together.
